A mild mutton curry, with a fragrant tomato gravy.
Ingredients:- 1/2 kg Mutton
- 1 Onion -finely chopped
- 2 Tomatoes-finely chopped
- 1tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste
- 1tbsp Red chilli powder
- 1/4tbsp Turmeric powder
- 2 Green chillies
- 1tbsp lemon juice-optional
- Salt to taste
- 4tbsp oil
- Coriander leaves-finely chopped
- Mint leaves-finely chopped
- Wash and marinate the mutton with ginger-garlic paste,salt,red chilli powder,turmeric powder and keep aside.
- Take a heavy bottomed pan,add oil at medium heat and add onion;fry till they are slightly golden in color.
- Add the marinated mutton and mix well and let it cook for few minutes.
- Now add the chopped tomatoes and green chillies and let it cook till it gets smooth and mushy.
- Now add water and cook until the mutton is tender.
- Then leave it on for low heat till the thin layer of oil appears on the bottom surface and cover the pan and leave till the gravy is thick.
- Add coriander and mint leaves.
- Remove from heat and serve with parathas and plain rice.
